Austerity measures seem to be the order of the day recently, whether you are a government or a company that is not making enough money to feed the people and employees. It seems that HP has told 275 of their staff from the webOS division to leave simply because they no longer need to secure the numerous engineering as well as other relation positions which it previously required. Well, the medicine might be painful and bitter, so hopefully whatever was prescribed would allow the “patient” to live. This is definitely on the same track as previous webOS head Jon Rubinstein left as we announced late last month. Granted, couldn’t the laid off employees find relevant work in other segments of HP’s business arms? Hopefully the families affected will be able to find enough financial support from this dark cloud.
