Most of the time, we would have thought that an official update to a particular operating system would not come with issues, and while that is the case for majority of the time, there are moments when things were better prior to the update. Unfortunately, this is one of those times where the LG Optimus 3D is concerned – the latest Android 2.3 Gingerbread update that promised a whole lot such as a speedier 3G connection, a better 3D video editor, and improved video quality among others also brought along an unwanted “visitor” – that is, it causes ghost call issues. Just what is a ghost call? Well, whenever there is an inbound call, the LG Optimus 3D remains stoned in its current condition, where it does not only ring, and neither does it let you know that you have a missed call after that.

There are some over at the XDA Developers forum who claim that this is because of a faulty baseband, and when one flashes a different version, the issue is supposed to be dead and buried with (pardon the pun). Needless to say, if you downgrade to Android 2.2 Froyo, that solution would work as well. LG has been informed of this glitch for a fair number of times already, but nary an official patch is in sight. Bummer.
