Here is something that you might want to take into consideration – politicians are not people to be deified, as they are placed in their respective positions of power to serve the people, and not the other way around, although some democracies do seem to indicate otherwise. The latest scandal to rock India’s political scene would be a trio of them being caught viewing porn on a cell phone during a session of state parliament. To make the situation more precarious, all three of them hail from a morally conservative party, and one of them is a women’s affairs minister to boot.
Good thing they had the right sense to resign after being caught, as they did not want to be the weak link in the Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party for future elections. It does amaze me sometimes to think of folks who think that they can get away with anything so blatant. I do have my sympathy for the families of those involved though, as the barracking that they receive would take some time to subside.
