[MWC 2012] Mobile payment might be the next big thing in the service industry that will generate billions of dollars worldwide, and Intel as well as Visa want to prepare themselves to ride this particular wave, hence announcing a strategic agreement that will develop mobile commerce solutions which are specially tailored to consumers in developed and developing countries. The Visa V.me application is a standardized payment platform that allows the end user to download Visa payment information straight onto a mobile device – in a secure manner, of course.

John Partridge, President of Visa says, “Visa’s agreement with Intel paves the way for financial institutions around the globe to offer their account holders mobile payments and financial services using innovative mobile devices and technologies designed by Intel. This is another example of how Visa is making mobile payments broadly available across devices and operating systems and is ensuring that mobile commerce applications are aligned with existing technology and security standards established by the global payments industry.”
