Windows Phone hacker Heathcliff74 has decided to use Twitter as well as XDA-Developers as his official channels to make the announcement that the latest version of WP7 Root Tools, version 0.9, is very, very close to being released. This particular version saw Healthcliff74 add the ability to mark an app as “trusted”, which more or less is an unrestricted pass to allow the particular app root access. He claims that there is a method to the apparent madness, in order to prevent potential malware on the device to have unrestricted access. It is somewhat the equivalent of the “trusted” toggle found in an interactive firewall. Some of the devices which WP7 Root Tools 0.9 should support assuming they are Interop Unlocked would be first and second generation Samsung devices, those from LG’s stable, HTC’s 1st generation with Mango v1 drivers, as well as the first generation of HTC’s devices with custom unlocked ROMs. So far, no specific release date has been listed yet, but he did put up a teaser screen capture.
