Apple does seem to break record after record in recent memory, ranging from the phenomenal number of sales in terms of their computers, smartphones, tablets, stock price and now, we have another milestone for the record – the App Store has seen over 25 billion apps downloaded for use on iPhones, iPads and other devices. This achievement was reason for the colorful banner set up over at their website, informing customers the following, “A billion thanks. 25 times over. The App Store has reached 25 billion downloads. Thanks for getting us there.”
This is a phenomenal achievement, concerning how just in July 2011 alone, Apple’s App Store ‘merely’ passed the 15 billion downloaded apps mark. Google is still far behind in terms of such figures, where they just passed the 10 billion app downloads mark in December last year. Well, perhaps things will change in the future when more and more people jump aboard the Android device bandwagon. How many apps out of the 25 billion did you contribute to?
