As we mentioned last week, the Android G9 will receive its Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update in a couple of weeks’ time. Looks like owners of the Archos G9 need not wait that long, as Archos has just released that software update in the form of Android 4.0.3. The update will be available from today onwards in an over-the-air (OTA) format. If you have not really scrutinized your Archos G9, now would be a good time to do so – look out for the notification “A” in the lower right hand corner of your device, select it, download the update, and voila – you are good to go with Ice Cream Sandwich in your hands. Hopefully this particular update has been thoroughly tested before it was released, otherwise it would be a real pity to see the tablet gimped by a supposedly superior operating system update.
