We have East meets West, and now, Old meets New. The world of video games might soon see a new trend, where folks mix and match both visuals and graphics from two different eras of games. YouTube user Omega52 actually switched the audio from Battlefield 3 with NES sound effects, and that totally changes the way the game is played. After all, poor sound design does play a role in reducing the enjoyability factor of the game, and since Battlefield 3’s audio is far from memorable, why not introduce some old school sound effects for that added touch of retro? Omega52 describes the video as :-

“I wonder what BF3 would be like with NES sound effects.” So I made this. Sounds are from Contra and Top Gun, music is from Journey to Silius (Title Screen) and Batman(Stage 4 Part 1). PC Version incase you were going to ask.” I do hope to see more fan-made projects like these hit the Internet, and that this would be more than just a passing fad.
