BlackBerry logoIt’s going to be awhile longer before we get any BlackBerry 10 OS devices, but in the meantime, RIM will still be pushing out phones that run on the BlackBerry 7 OS. One of the phones we’ll be seeing in the near future is going to be the BlackBerry 9220 according to an announcement on the official BlackBerry developer blog. While they didn’t reveal any images of the phone, they did list out its specs and release a simulator for developers to download in case they would like to develop apps for BlackBerry 7 OS and make sure it runs on the phone as well.

The BlackBerry 9220 seems like an entry-level to mid rage device – it features a 320 x 240 display (164 dpi), 512MB of RAM, 512MB of Internal Persistent Storage, 2-megapixel camera with 5x digital zoom, QWERTY keyboard, FM Radio, WiFi, Bluetooth, and of course BlackBerry 7 OS. If you’re a developer and you’d like to download the BlackBerry 9220 simulator, head here.
