About a week ago, for those of you who might remember, Carl Zeiss teased us with an upcoming “super” wide angle lens. The good news for lovers of wide angled lens photography is that the lens has officially been unveiled as the Carl Zeiss Distagon T* 2.8/15 ZF.2 lens.

The lens will feature a focal length of 15mm, an aperture range of f/2.8 to 22, a focusing range of 0.25m – infinity, a length of 132mm (with cap), a diameter of 103mm, a weight of 730g and will be priced at a whopping $2,950, although given its brand and reputation we guess we can’t say that we’re surprised.

More information on the Distagon T* can be found at Carl Zeiss’ website, or if you’re already considering adding it to your collection, pop on over to Zeiss Images for the review.
