Metal Gear Solid HD Collection arriving on the PlayStation VitaGood news for PlayStation Vita owners who are fans of Solid Snake – Konami has announced today that the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection will be arriving on the PlayStation Vita this year. The collection that includes Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater will be available on the portable console with HD graphics and “unique controls.” While it wasn’t mentioned how these unique controls would differ, we’re pretty sure they’re going to make use of the front and rear touch panels of the Vita.

The game will also feature trophies that are shared via Transferring with the PlayStation 3 but other than that, nothing else has been revealed. Fans of the series will probably appreciate being able to game as Solid Snake while on the go and new comers to the series who didn’t get to play those games when they were launched will be able to appreciate them this time around.

No word on pricing, but the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection on the PlayStation Vita will be available this summer.
