A Microsoft job posting, which has since been pulled (thanks Google Cache!), has revealed that the company is indeed working on a next-generation console, although no names were mentioned. The listing is for a software development engineer, with the job description listed below:
“The ISS Console Multimedia Team, responsible for designing and developing the next generation console, is looking for a highly motivated and skilled audio developer. If you love gaming, game audio and music, then join us as an integral part of the team tasked to revolutionize audio for the next generation of Xbox.”
In addition to that listing, another listing was spotted, this time by Turn 10 who were on the lookout for a cinematic art director capable of “driving the cinematics vision and techniques needed to achieve exceptionally high quality content for our Next Generation of games” Little to nothing is known about Microsoft’s next-generation Xbox, although the most recent set of rumors seem to think that it will not feature a disc drive.
