PlayStation Vita owners, we know that when the device was announced, Sony had expressed their plans to make the Vita into more than just a portable gaming device with the Music Unlimited service along with the video section in the PlayStation Store. Well the good news for PlayStation Vita owners out there is that Sony has officially announced the availability of Music Unlimited and videos.

For Music Unlimited users, Sony is currently boasting a library of more than 15 million songs, and will be utilizing some of the Vita’s features, such as its touch screen which can be used to navigate and to search for music. Songs can also be downloaded and stored for offline play, and playlists and preferences can also be synched with your Vita amongst other supported Sony devices.

If you’re the type that prefers videos, then the video section of the PlayStation Store could be worth checking out. It will allow users to rent or own videos and can be downloaded directly onto your Vita, which we’re guessing could be a nice break from all that gaming. For more information or for the entire walk-through, head on over to Sony’s PlayStation Blog for the details and video.
