One of the greatest advantages that mutants like Wolverine and Sabertooth have over their opponents in a battle or brawl would be their accelerated healing factor. Sure, that does not mean pain is done away with, but knowing that it is nigh impossible to succumb to flesh wounds (you can’t even have your head chopped off in the Ol’ Canucklehead’s case since his bones were bonded with adamantium), it gives your confidence an unprecedented boost. How about a cyborg version of Wolverine? Now, that would be the ultimate nightmare, and scientists have discovered a new skin-like plastic which might lead us down that road. This special plastic can “bleed” when cut or scratched, but will proceed to heal itself, although the rate of healing is not going to be near instantaneous. This material could prove to be the killer “hardware” when it comes to consumer electronics products – no longer do you need to worry about minor scuffs on your iPhone. This self-healing plastic reacts to ordinary light, and can change in temperature or acidity, simply through the process of mending broken molecular “bridges” in order to heal itself.
