Sprint and HTC send out invites for an April event

Could the rumors about the HTC One X arriving on Sprint be true? Sprint has just sent out invitations to the media for a “collaboration event” between it and HTC. The event will be taking place in New York City on April 4^th. While the invitation seems pretty vague, it does feature some sort of shape in the background resembling a misshapen X (or a T) which seems to hint at the HTC One X. We could probably be reading too much into the graphic, but with previous rumors about the device floating around, and the imminent launch of Sprint’s LTE network, we’re inclined to think that it’s true.

The HTC One X is HTC’s upcoming flagship device and should be sporting a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor (as opposed to Tegra 3) – unless Sprint opts for the 3G version of the phone. Other features include a 4.7″ display, 1GB of RAM, NFC and Android Ice Cream Sandwich. Fortunately for us, April is only a couple of weeks away and we should find out soon enough.

HTC: High Tech Computer Corporation (HTC) is a Taiwanese manufacturer of smartphones and tablets. The company started as an ODM (Original Design Manufacturer) that was building devices for others, but went on making HTC-branded smartphones based mostly on Microsoft's Windows operating system (OS) for mobile. In 2009, it began to shift its core focus away from Windows mobile devices to Android-based ones. In 2010 the company went back to the Windows Phone eco-system.

HTC One X: The HTC One X is the leading phone of the HTC One Series which was launched at Mobile World Congress 2012 in Barcelona. It was demonstrated with an NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor, but most of the variants for U.S 4G LTE networks will use a dual-core chip from Qualcomm. Sprint: Sprint is one of the major wireless carriers in the USA. It uses a mix of CDMA, WiMax and LTE Networks as the backbone of its infrastructure. The company's network is also used by third parties and mobile virtual operators like Boost Mobile, Virgin Mobile, and Assurance Wireless. Sprint has about 55M subscribers.
