It seems that the hype behind the Raspberry Pi, which costs a mere $25 thereabouts to manufacture, has built a whole lot of momentum behind as the websites selling this minicomputer has crashed due to the high demand. The experience was described as frustrating by some who went through the ordeal, being described on Twitter by Matthew Green as, “This is what it feels like to be a middle-aged woman who wants Take That tickets.”

What do we know about the Raspberry Pi so far that we have shared with the rest of the world? Raspberry Pi claims that it supports AirPlay, and is touted to come with double the graphics speed of the iPhone 4S. Not only that, the most recent rumor surrounding the Raspberry Pi earlier this month seemed to have turned out accurate, where it is said to be good for a February 2012 release. Just to recap, the Raspberry Pi is no slouch when it comes to connectivity, featuring a USB port to hook up a keyboard, an Ethernet port, an SD memory card slot, and an HDMI port for video output. You will need to come up with your own keyboard and display though, although a High Definition TV can substitute a monitor if you like.
