About a week ago, it was reported that a staggering 600,000 over Macs were infected with the Flashback trojan. Apple has since released an update to patch up the vulnerability, and while there have been releases of third-party tools to check your Mac to see if you’re one of the few infected with the trojan and to remove the trojan, it looks like Apple wants to streamline the process by releasing a software of their own that will detect and remove the malware from Mac computers. No word on when Apple will be releasing this software, but if you’d rather not wait and remove it now, F-Secure has released a guide on how to manually remove the trojan yourself. Unfortunately this would require users entering a series of commands into the Terminal app which could prove to be a difficult task for inexperienced users. Alternatively anti-virus software maker, Kaspersky, has also released a Flashback remover of their own which you can check out via their website.
