The more recent additions to the Xperia family from Sony Mobile will be on the receiving end of the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich firmware updates in due time, where the firmware sports a version number of 4.1.A.0.562 and was certified by the PTCRB. The quartet of 2011 Sony Xperia handsets would be the Xperia arc, Xperia arc S, Xperia neo V and Xperia ray. There are no specifics as to what this firmware represents, chances are it will be the long awaited Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich Xperia update. For starters, the beta Ice Cream Sandwich firmware versions for the Xperia arc S and Xperia PLAY come with a prefix of 4.1.X.X.X, and Sony Mobile also confirmed that the first 2011 Xperia handsets to be on the receiving end of this update will be the Xperia arc S, neo V and ray. I wonder whether they had a change of heart at the end of the day and threw in the original Xperia arc into the mix as well. Ah well, good things always come to those who wait, so practicing a little patience here goes a long way!
