Here is a potential April Fool’s banana skin, although it does seem legit considering how Rovio is hell bent on milking their super successful gaming franchise to the death. Word has it that Nick Dorra recently revealed Rovio’s plans for a cartoon TV series at MIPTV in Cannes. Touted to arrive later this fall, Rovio’s head of animation Nick Dorra, said, “We’re going to roll out a weekly animation series later this year of shortform content.” If this be true, then expect all 52 episodes (a year’s worth, I presume) to run for approximately 3 minutes each, and will be viewable across a wide range of platforms. Dorra has also confirmed an Angry Birds movie, although it will take at least a couple of years for that to fly onto the silver screen. What do you think – is Nick pulling a fast one on the rest of the world, or is he dead serious about cartoons for Angry Birds? Something tells me that the ads before the cartoon and after might actually run longer than the cartoon itself…
