At Ubergizmo, we already fell in love with the JAMBOX when Jawbone launched it in November 2010, we highly appreciate its elegant minimalistic design and its incredible powerful sound coming from such a compact body. It looks a lot of people feel the same since JAMBOX is now the number one selling speaker, according to Jawbone.

Today, Jawbone introduced the BIG JAMBOX, the “big sister” of JAMBOX, a slightly larger speaker that weighs only 2.7 pounds and offers a similar design with a much more powerful sound, so people can use it for outdoors parties. Unlike the Jambox, the BIG JAMBOX does not use its battery as an active part of the sound system, because the larger body provides enough space to cram an airtight enclosure with proprietary neodymium drivers and two opposing passive bass radiators.

The audio quality is maintained for any type of sound track, the software adapts the sound according to the music style, and, thanks to its advanced digital signal processing (DSP) algorithms,  the audio quality is enhanced and optimized for the highest quality playback at every volume.

Setting up the BIG JAMBOX is uber- simple, you just have to press the flashing pairing button and pair it with your Bluetooth enabled mobile device to start enjoying the music. The devices comes with built-in LiveAudio, a feature that enhances any stereo sound track with 3D sound. LiveAudio was added in the JAMBOX as a software update in August 2011.

Last but not least, for those who really want to get conference calls while partying on the beach, the device features a new omnidirectional microphone for 360degree sound input, with improved echocancellation and full duplex communication, if you want to get “crystal clear calls”, the company assures you can do it but from you home or your office, not sure if that it is possible while partying.

Just like its little sister, the BIG JAMBOX offers smart features via its MyTalk software platform where users can download audio apps, software updates and customizable features (such as the voice which tells you to recharge the device).

The BIG JAMBOX comes in three flavors: red dot, white wave and graphite Hex (photo) and will be available in the US on May 15 for $299 at AT&T, Best Buy and Sprint.
