We’re sure there are plenty of casual gamers playing Blizzard’s games, but at the same time we’re pretty sure that there are plenty of hardcore and extremely competitive players as well. These are the players who might be extremely concerned about achievements, ladder rankings, in-game items, etc. If you think that that describes you, Blizzard has announced an additional layer of security users can add to their accounts called Battle.net Mobile Alerts. This is a free service offered by Blizzard that allows users to manage their Battle.net accounts via their phones as long as it can send/receive text messages and has a data plan.

Users will be able to unlock their Battle.net accounts, remove authenticators, recover account names and reset their passwords. On top of that, users will be able to opt to receive alerts via text messages which will inform them of any suspicious activity, password changes, security feature additions or removals. More information on the Battle.net Mobile Alerts can be found at its FAQ, or check out the video above for the details.
