We talked about the Brother AirScouter head mounted display a couple of times back in 2010, and here we are nearly two years down the road, and there is a spanking new update to the hardware which will come in the form of the WD-100G that boasts of corrective lenses support, while the WD-100A does not have any lenses for folks who have perfect vision. The new AirScouter models will feature a 800 × 600 resolution that is equal to an experience of viewing a 16” display at a meter away, and if you prefer, you can always adjust it to resemble a 156” screen viewing experience from 10 meters away.
The Brother AirScouter will need to hook up to a computer before it is able to stream data for your viewing pleasure. Apart from that, it also features VoIP Support and Live Camera support for added functionality. No idea on whether it will ever make its way outside of Japan, but we do know that you can already place a pre-order for the Brother AirScouter if you happen to live in the Land of the Rising Sun, where it will ship out from August onwards.
