Dell snaps Wyse upEvery company needs to continue improving regardless of how far ahead they are of the competition if they were to remain relevant in the market, as even the biggest giants can always fall due to negligence or plain poor planning. Dell, once the darling of the computer world, is not exactly a pariah at the moment, but are trying to gain their mojo back. One of the steps include shifting their focus from just plain hardware to include software as well, and Dell’s latest move comprises of purchasing Wyse in order to expand its desktop virtualization capabilities. Wyse Technology is a thin-client pioneer, and here is what Dell has to say about the situation, “Desktop virtualization can help organizations streamline IT management, improve productivity and security, and increase cost efficiency for discrete workloads or usage scenarios,” Jeff Clark, president of end-user computing solutions at Dell, said in a statement. “The Wyse Technology desktop virtualization capability complements Dell’s strongest-ever device and computing solutions portfolio, and strengthens our position in offering customers among the broadest set of computing choices, from the edge to the core to the cloud.”
