Blizzard’s upcoming game, Diablo 3, is scheduled for a 15th of May launch. However this date was in reality a delay from Blizzard’s initial prediction of an end of 2011 launch. While we’re sure that many gamers out there were no doubt disappointed by the delay, you guys might want to take some comfort in the fact that Blizzard could have technically released Diablo 3 a lot earlier but it probably would not have been as good as it is now. This was revealed by Lead Software Engineer, Jason Regier, who was quoted as saying:

“We probably could have shipped the game earlier, but I think that it would not have been nearly as good a game as it is now […] Back then it was pretty good, but we’ve really kicked it up a notch since.”

Having played the game during its open beta weekend, I have to agree that the game is pretty good not to mention incredibly fun. Blizzard has been known to take their time with their games in order to ensure that they are released with top notch quality and with as little hiccups as possible, but what do you guys think? Do you think Diablo 3 still needs a lot of work done on it, or do you think it’s pretty much good to go already?
