Have you given the Disgaea franchise a go before? If you haven’t and yet own a PS Vita, then you might be interested to check out Disgaea 3: Absence of Detention. This particular title will arrive on both PSN as well as retailer shelves this coming April 17th, and just to make sure that you are on the same page with us, here is a little bit of background on what Disgaea is all about. Basically, it is a turn-based strategy RPG which allows players to move and arrange their characters using a grid-based system in order to deliver special attacks, while they can work as a team and sock it to the enemies, dealing millions of points of damage in the process.

What makes Disgaea 3: Absence of Detention special is this, it comes with the entire Disgaea 3 game in addition to a slew of downloadable content that was originally included in the Disgaea 3 game which hit the PS3 a few years ago. The special hardware found on the PS Vita also comes into good use here – you are now able to control your point of view on the map, zoom in and out, and scroll through menus using the front touchscreen and rear touchpad.

With GPS functionality thrown into the mix, it can track just how far you travel on the physical plane when playing the PS Vita. This will then be translated into an in-game stat boost known as “Honor Quotient”. Increasing this can also come in the way of defeating monsters and clearing stages, but when you can burn a few more calories while you are at it, why not? Playing in a moving car or train is also another viable option.
