Something tells me that the Listen button over at Facebook might soon be popular enough to spawn off a line of zany prints and peripherals which will feature the Listen icon, although it really depends on the success of its implementation. The social network giant just introduced a Listen button that features prominent placement on musician pages in order to turn your social networking experience into one that will let you share music easier than ever before. It will definitely cause a stir among those who use Spotify to share music that they like with the others.
Should your mouse cursor hover over the Listen button, a modal should pop up when clicked, prompting you to launch a music service’s application – Spotify in this case. Would this minor tweak by Facebook turn the world’s largest social network into the ideal platform for new artists to debut? In short, will Facebook attempt to continue where MySpace left off?
