Microsoft and 343 Industries have announced that Halo 4 will be released around the globe this coming November 6, 2012. This marks a Halo game in the franchise that does not stick to the traditional September debut date, and perhaps it has been reshuffled in order to go up against the other two FPS (First Person Shooter) behemoths known as Call of Duty and Medal of Honor. Halo 4 will be set a quartet of years after Halo 3 has passed, and Master Chief is back as the protagonist, where you will, once again, help save the universe.

The game can be said to be a reboot of sorts, as it is also the first title under the development of 343 Industries. According to Phil Spencer, corporate vice president of Microsoft Studios, “We are beginning a new saga with Halo 4 and embarking on a journey that will encompass the next decade of Halo games and experiences. Millions of fans worldwide have been eagerly awaiting the opportunity to step back into the boots of Master Chief, and with Halo 4 leading the charge, we’re confident 2012 will be the most successful year in Xbox history.”

Are you looking forward to Halo 4 when November arrives? I do wonder whether the game will come in different boxed sets for the collector in you. [Press Release]
