The folks over at Kotaku have managed to record a session of Kingdom Hearts 3D’s battle system running at full steam ahead, and just in case you were wondering, Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance does share many gameplay elements similar to past titles in order to let you have that sense of familiarity. Those who are familiar with Re:coded and Birth by Sleep will be especially happy, although there are a few major changes introduced to Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance as well – it makes sense, considering how one needs to keep the series feeling fresh and yet not too detached from its predecessor. Basically, the new battle system is the maiden attempt at a “free-flow” system that enables you to perform special attacks through interacting with enemies or the environment in selected methods. These attacks will no doubt, be far superior compared to standard combos and magic, so it is up to you to figure out just how best to navigate through your battles with ease when it seems impossible.
