We did talk about how there was a placeholder for the Nook Audio on Barnes & Noble’s website at the turn of this month, and boy were the majority misled into thinking that the Nook Audio is a new kind of e-book reader, when in reality, Barnes & Noble’s latest release is but a pair of headphones which will carry the Nook brand – hence its name. According to The Digital Reader, they have pricing details on the new Nook Audio headphones, where the standard issue over-ear style will retail for $50, while those who opt for a more compact in-ear version will have to fork out a mere $20. They will definitely carry Nook logos on them, but do not expect these to bring the house down with the kind of musical quality at such a price point. In the mean time, you might want to wait for an official announcement from Barnes & Noble themselves.
