Panasonic has decided to bring the ‘green is in’ mantra up a notch with their Photosynthesis concept that is paraded in Milan, Italy. The “Photosynthesis” concept installation, as it is called, is a showcase of its total solutions when it comes to creating, saving, storing and managing energy throughout the entire course of the Milano Salone del Mobile 2012, which is actually one of the leading, largest and most influential design expos in the world that is held each year in where else but the capital of fashion – Milan, Italy.

Panasonic hopes that their idea will be able to get the message across, presenting it in an energy cycle, where they have compared it to the equivalent of an ecological cycle which starts off with photosynthesis, kicking off energy creation via clever use of solar panels, and continued by stashing away energy via storage batteries. As for making sure energy is used efficiently, energy saving LED and organic LED lights will see action, and individual stages of the cycle are controlled by an energy management system.

Young architect Akihisa Hirata might be wet behind his ears, but by no means are his ideas any less visionary. [Press Release]
