While LG and HTC seem to think that there is a market for 3D phones, i.e. the LG Optimus 3D, 3D Max and the HTC EVO 3D, Samsung does not. In fact there has been some speculation, albeit a rather short-lived one, in the past that the upcoming Galaxy S3 could feature a 3D display. It seems that Samsung is not too happy about all the various speculations that could unnecessarily increase the expectations of customers looking forward to the Galaxy S3, and has since released a statement to Engadget claiming that the Galaxy S3 will not feature a 3D display.
“Although Samsung Electronics is constantly exploring new technologies for our mobile devices, we have no immediate plan to include displays featuring 3D technology in our upcoming smartphones.”
So for those who have bought the rumors that the Galaxy S3 could feature a glasses-free 3D display or 3D cameras, it looks like you’re out of luck for now.
