PlayStation 3There have been a ton of rumors surrounding Sony’s next-gen PlayStation and Microsoft’s next-gen Xbox. Previously Microsoft had beaten Sony to the market by releasing the Xbox 360 a year before Sony launched their PlayStation 3, and if the rumors are to be believed, it looks like Sony will not be letting that happen again. According to a source that spoke to VG247:

“Sony are completely in the belief that they have the jump on Microsoft this time,” they said. “You should be watching the timing of next year’s E3 keynotes, and who’s going to go first.”

VG247’s source also revealed to them that Sony is confident that they will have their next-gen console, possibly named the PlayStation 4, in the market by Christmas of 2013. Favored partners, publishers and developers have apparently been briefed about it and are currently working on creating games for Sony’s next-gen console. Will this recent set of rumors hold up? Well we guess we will wait until E3 this year to see what either manufacturer has to say, but until then we suggest taking this with a grain of salt.
