Water in the desert is hard to come by which is why Eole Water has come up with a solution: a wind turbine that condenses water from the air. This idea was chanced upon by its founder Marc Parent who was inspired by the amount of water that he managed to collect from his air conditioner unit while living in the Caribbean. These wind turbines are now deployed in Abu Dhabi and is reportedly able to collect about 500-800 liters of water a day, with a potential to reach up to 1,000 liters if they were to employ a tower top system.

It works thanks to its 30kW wind turbines that powers and houses the entire system. Air is taken in through the cone of the turbine which is then heated by a generator to create steam. The steam then goes through a cooling compressor that helps create moisture which is then condensed and collected. The resulting water is then sent to stainless steel storage tanks where the water is then filtered and purified for human consumption. It should be noted that this is not an entirely new process, but it is the first that uses a wind turbine to power it. Its use can be extended to areas where clean water is hard to come by, such as remote communities or disaster-stricken areas.
