For those unaware, both Facebook and Yahoo are currently in a legal battle in which the latter has accused the former of infringing upon its patents; ten patents to be exact. The lawsuit was filed back in March but it looks like Yahoo is not done and has since added two more patent infringement claims to the lawsuit bringing it up to a total of 12 alleged patent infringements. In a statement released by Yahoo:

“Today Yahoo! filed additional claims against Facebook in U.S. District Court related to two additional patents on which Facebook infringes […] As we have stated previously, Yahoo!’s technologies are the foundation of our business that engages over 700 million monthly unique visitors and represent the spirit of innovation upon which Yahoo! is built. We intend to vigorously protect these technologies for our customers and shareholders.”

Naturally Facebook is disagreeing with the claims made by Yahoo and has since issued a response of their own:

“We remain perplexed by Yahoo’s erratic actions […] We disagree with these latest claims and we will continue to defend ourselves vigorously.”

While it looks like Apple and Samsung’s highly publicized and global patent war could be coming to an end, it certainly looks like a new one is brewing.
