In its latest move, the establishment behind the popular and successful Angry Birds franchise Rovio has announced yet another variant of its game. This time around it brings Angry Birds to the competitive front with Angry Birds Friends. The application which is available on Facebook gives you new weekly tournaments, new weekly levels and even more ways to earn power-ups. In addition to that, features like Share & Play, new power-ups and daily rewards have been introduced in this new installment. Rovio has detailed the weekly tournaments, new weekly levels and methods through which players can earn more power-ups in its blog.

By getting the highest score among your friends in the weekly tournament, you will earn a gold trophy which you collect as weeks go past. For second and third places, players will receive silver and bronze trophies respectively. As for the new weekly levels, Angry Birds Friends has four new levels exclusively in tournament mode and every week; the company will apparently be introducing new levels through which you can get your Angry Birds fix.

Finally, in addition to the daily rewards players will receive, you can now earn power-ups through tournament mode. Earn three power-up bundles for a gold trophy, two for silver and one for bronze. On top of that players will receive a power-up for each tournament level that is played along with one extra simply for participating in the tournament. Who doesn’t like power-ups?
