With Internet Explorer being preinstalled on Windows computers, for the less tech savvy and less adventurous, this will be their default choice of browser which could explain the browser’s huge marketshare. However in the recent years, third-party browsers such as Mozilla’s Firefox and Google’s Chrome browser have started to chip away at Internet Explorer’s marketshare and according to a report by analytics firm Statcounter, it looks like Google’s Chrome browser has finally overtaken Internet Explorer as the world’s most used web browser. Chrome and Internet Explorer have been pretty much neck to neck in the past few months but it looks like Chrome has finally pulled ahead. Will they be able to maintain their lead? We guess we will have to wait and see! However it should be noted that there are other analytic firms and other means of tracking out there, so this should not be taken as the end-all of usage reports. In the mean time, what do you guys think of this? Have you started noticing more people using Firefox or Chrome over Internet Explorer recently?
