Gmail has achieved a new “high score” of sorts, when the total number of supported languages in Gmail now stands at 56. Yes sir, the latest two additions would be Welsh and Latin American Spanish. Google prides itself in catering to the minority as well as majority, as languages are said to be able to provide a sense of identity, pride, a sense of belonging as well as spiritual guidance to communities. With Gmail being available in Welsh and Latin American Spanish now, you might want to go ahead and make that language selection as your default language in Settings.

Welsh is not a dead language – on the contrary, it is very much alive, and is being used by an increasing number of speakers. I absolutely love the way some roads and places are named in Wales, with the nigh unpronounceable words getting one all tongue tied. As for the Latin American Spanish version of Gmail, it was specially designed to cater to the expectations of Spanish speakers in the Americas.
