Not too long ago, the latest batch of iPhone rumors has suggested that instead of liquid metal, the next-gen iPhone by Apple is expected to feature a metal back instead along with a display of 3.95”. Now thanks to the folks at iFixyouri, they have sent 9to5 Mac a photo of an iPhone component which could very well belong to the next-gen iPhone. Neither iFixyouri nor 9to5 Mac has claimed that this backplate does belong to the next-gen iPhone, but based on the photo and the speculation and rumors, it certainly does look like a promising candidate. Regardless, we suggest taking this with a grain of salt until it has been confirmed.

For starters, and we’re not sure if it’s just a matter of perspective and the way that the photo has been taken, but it does look slightly “longer”, thus corroborating rumors of a larger display. On the bottom of the device, you will also be able to make out a significantly smaller dock connector, which also corroborates what the rumors been saying. The extra space at the bottom of the casing is also expected to house better quality speakers, which apparently will be louder than its predecessor.

Last but not least, the supplier of the component has also told iFixyouri that black and white will not be the only colors offered this year. We’re not sure what other colors Apple has planned, but it will be interesting to see the Cupertino expand its offerings beyond just black and white. So what do you guys think? Are we a bit too early to start seeing leaked components, or do you think that this could be it?
