German precision engineering is something that we would more often than not associate with their spate of luxury cars like Mercedes Benz, BMW and Audi, but this time around, it is a gaming peripheral from ROCCAT that will capture the world’s attention next month as ROCCAT unveils the ROCCAT Kone XTD Max Customization Gaming Mouse at E3 as well as Computex. The successor to the world famous Kone[+], the Kone XTD Max will come with the latest 8200 DPI Pro Aim R3 laser sensor, a 32-bit Turbo Core V2 72MHz ARM MCU processor underneath the hood, as well as what ROCCAT claims to be the “world’s most advanced Tracking & Distance Control Unit”. I guess if you lose your next game using this, you will have nothing left to blame except yourself. A good workman, after all, never blames his tools…
ROCCAT has also thrown in a hardy and yet extremely precise scroll wheel that was specially designed to enable gamers to provide each command with absolute accuracy. It comes in a perfectly balanced right-handed design (southpaws might not be too happy about that) alongside a soft touch surface, the Kone XTD might eventually be the most powerful gaming mouse to date, although I am sure that Razer or Logitech have something to say about that.
No word on pricing as at press time, but the Kone XTD is tipped to arrive worldwide this coming September.
