Last year we reported on an upcoming South Park game that was being developed by Obsidian. While no official release date was mentioned, the game is expected to be arriving this year on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and the PC. The game was tentatively dubbed as South Park: The Game but thanks to a Xbox.com listing (page has since been removed), the upcoming game’s name has officially been revealed to be, South Park: The Stick of Truth. The description of the game also reads:

“From the perilous battlefields of the fourth-grade playground, a young hero will rise, destined to be South Park’s savior. From the creators of South Park, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, comes an epic quest to become… cool. Introducing South Park: The Stick of Truth.”

Offline cooperative playing has been revealed as one of the game’s features, and it seems that DLCs for the game have also been planned. According to the listing, the 5th of May was outed as the release date but obviously that is wrong, but given THQ’s latest announcement about not shipping South Park until it has been polished, possible release dates are pretty much all up in the air at the moment.
