A couple of days ago we reported that thanks to a leaked T-Mobile document, the Huawei Prism was outed for a possible release on the 6th of May. The good news is that if you are shopping on a budget and the Huawei Prism sounded like a device that will save you some money, T-Mobile has officially announced the device and has also confirmed that it will be hitting the shelves at Best Buy come 6th of May, Walmart on the 9th and will arrive at official retailers on the 23rd for $20 on contract (with $50 mail-in rebate).
So what will you be getting for your $20? Expect to find a 3.5” HVGA display, a 3.2MP rear-facing camera with fixed-focus and will run on Android 2.3 Gingerbread. The speed of the processor was not outed although rumor has suggested that it could be clocked at a mere 600MHz. However given its price we guess it’s hard to complain. If you’d rather not tie yourself to a two-year contract with such a low-end device, the Huawei Prism will also be available for purchase for $150 sans contract.
