If you aren’t completely sold on the idea of ultrabooks and if you still think that netbooks are still the most portable solution for you, well the bad news is that Toshiba has announced that at the moment, the company has no plans to offer any new netbooks as far as the US market is concerned. This was confirmed by a Toshiba executive who spokes to the folks at Liliputing. What this means is that some of Toshiba’s upcoming netbooks, like the NB510 Cedar Trail Netbook (spotted earlier this year at CES) will not be hitting the shelves stateside. Instead the company has revealed that their attention will be focused on the new ultrabook genre of mobile computers, such as the Toshiba Portege Z830, but given that its price is almost double that of a netbook, we can see why some might still favor the slightly bulkier netbooks. In the meantime if netbooks are still what you’re after, there are other manufacturers from ASUS, Acer and HP who still have netbook devices available alongside their ultrabook offerings.
