Do you think that ZTE, the company from China that has its fair share of affordable Android-powered devices, will eventually be able to end up like HTC as a global power where smartphones are concerned (although HTC is going through some rough patches at the moment)? Well, if they continue to churn out devices like the ZTE V96 tablet, then surely they are on the right track. Unfortunately, everything else about the V96 has been kept on a lid – we absolutely have no idea on when it will launch, the price point, as well as the regions where this tablet will make an appearance in. However, the specifications alone to seem to show that this is one tablet worth keeping an eye out for.

For starters, the ZTE V96 will come with a 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor, a 10″ multi-touch screen at 1280 x 800 resolution, as well as the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system that does not leave you waiting for an upgrade right out of the box. Other hardware specifications include 1GB RAM, 16GB of internal memory, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, HDMI output, Dolby audio, as well as a 2-megapixel front-facing camera and a 5-megapixel shooter at the back. As for the list of supported networks, we are looking at HSPA+ and 4G LTE bands 2, 4, 5, and 17, meaning it will play nice on AT&T’s LTE network, but Verizon will just have to sit out on this one.
