If you’re a fan of Mario, what better way to show your love other than by releasing a 250 square foot balloon grid that has been arranged in the shape of Mario, right? Well maybe your love for the game might not take you to such extreme displays of affection but that’s exactly what Mark Rober did. Taking dozens of balloons that have been fitted with LED lights, he managed to launch a Mario-kite about 1,000 feet into the sky.
Granted due to the wind and the fact that the balloons weren’t exactly secured in their place, at some angles it was a bit hard to tell that it was Mario. We have to admit that this is pretty cool so be sure to check it out in the video above, or check out the video below where Rober will show you how to create a balloon-kite construction (he calls it a “night kite”) of your own.
