Amazon Kindle gets software updateOne good thing about hardware these days is the availability of software updates which prolongs the life of said piece of hardware. After all, instead of literally purchasing a totally new hardware revision, why not enhance the capabilities and functions of existing hardware through the introduction of new algorithms? This is what the $79 Amazon Kindle has received today, where the more affordable e-reader for the masses has just received the 4.1.0 software update which is said to deliver a new reading font that has been touted to be “higher contrast and crisper” for an even more “paper-like reading experience.”

Not only that, it comes with expanded parental controls in order for you to lay the smack down on your kids so that they will not be able to go off surfing for websites that are not meant for their eyes at that tender age to see, in addition to restricting access to archived items and the Kindle Store, too. You can download the Kindle 4.1.0 software update here.
