It wasn’t too long ago that Blizzard released the 1.0.2 patch for Diablo 3, but it looks like they’re back with yet another minor update. Unfortunately this isn’t the 1.0.3 update that is expected to bring about more game balances, but instead it’s a small update which bumps the patch to 1.0.2a. So what exactly will this patch entail? Well if you’re a seasoned Diablo 3 player, you probably know that farming Act 3’s boss, Azmodan, is one of the more straightforward and easier fights that you can encounter, therefore leading to huge XP gains along with the chances of getting better drops. Unfortunately Blizzard isn’t too pleased by that which explains the patch.

Thanks to the patch, farming Act 3’s boss will provide lesser rewards, thus putting off players attempting to farm him. The patch also targeted Nigel Cutthroat, a bandit in Act 1 who will now drop lower quality items when killed. He didn’t exactly drop uber items to begin with but we guess there were enough players farming him for loot that Blizzard decided to do something about it. There are a bunch of other changes so pop on over to Blizzard’s website for the full changelog. Players looking to farm can always try the first boss in Act 4, Iskatu, who not only is pretty easy to solo but thanks to the additional mobs around him, XP gains will also be relatively substantial and faster as well.
