Opera 12 desktop browser goes live A company is not going to survive very long if it does not adapt itself to ever changing market situations, and so here we are with the Opera 12 desktop browser that has just gone live. This particular version had remained in the beta cocoon for the longest time, so it is nice to see the software finally make the jump to a full release, being made available for not only Macs but PCs as well. You will be able to enjoy a speedier surfing experience courtesy of hardware acceleration compatibility, as well as speed improvements and an overhauled security badge. Not only that, the update itself will be accompanied by over 100 new browser skins to leave you spoilt for choice.

Another interesting addition would be camera support, enabling your webcam to play nice with web applications, ranging from an Asteroids-style game known as FaceKat to Photo Booth. Touted to be the best Opera version yet (hmmm, taking a leaf out of Apple’s book perhaps?), you might want to check it out for yourself before making a download decision. Which browser do you swear by at this moment, and why? Leave your two cents in the comments below. [Press Release]
