We’ve seen tablets handed out to schools and used by them as educational tools before, and now it looks like a new project dubbed the Tabula Project could be approaching the education industry from a new angle. Started by tech blogger Noah Kravitz, the Tabula Project is basically a project which he hopes will encourage the use of tablets as a teaching tool in classrooms across the nation. So instead of creating educational apps out there, which admittedly there are many currently available, the Tabula Project will instead approach the education sector by offering tools to help teachers make teaching with tablets more practical.

The project also aims to educate teachers on how to better use the tablets as teaching tools. After all, it is one thing to know how to use a tablet, but it’s another to know how to teach with it. According to Kravitz, these tools are tools that will “mimic the techniques that master teachers already use to great effectiveness.” While it might not have the flair that an education app might have, he does bring up a point that we didn’t realize was missing from all these educational tools and apps. If you think that the Tabula Project is important in ushering in a new era of teaching methods and tools, you can pledge a donation or learn more about the project at its website, or you can check out the video above as well.
