samsung galaxy s3 pebble blueDo you have a Samsung Galaxy S3 that’s locked to your carrier? While some carriers might be nice about unlocking phones, others might be more strict and requires you to pay a fee to unlock, or they may flat out simply refuse to do so. However if you own a locked Galaxy S3 and you want to unlock it so that you can use it during your travels with other SIM cards, XDA Elite Recognized Developer supercurio has released an app in the Google Play store that will allow you to unlock your device.

Dubbed the Voodoo Galaxy S III SIM Unlock, this app is currently in its beta stages and will only unlock Galaxy S3 models GT-I9300 only. Despite it being a beta, it seems that there have been reports along with comments in the Google Play store that the app works with no real issues. There is a caveat though – in order to use this app, Galaxy S3 owners need to have their devices rooted before proceeding. If you know how to do this, then you’re in the clear but if you don’t, you might want to take a look around the forums and do a bit of homework before proceeding. In the meantime Galaxy S3 owners with rooted phones can find the app in the Google Play store for download.
