I know, it can be quite hard waiting for this evening to arrive, as we too, wait with bated breath as to what Microsoft is going to announce. Will it be a new tablet? A totally new operating system that we are not aware of? How about this – there has been rumors too concerning a new console, which would clearly mean the next generation Xbox 360. What will Microsoft call it? Most folks have decided to christen it the Xbox 720, never mind the fact that the console itself has not been confirmed or announced. Perhaps that might change later this evening, but right now, a leaked document does touch on a $299 “Xbox 720” that is slated for a 2013 release.

After all, we have talked about the possibility of the Xbox Surface being announced later, and there is also a sketch that you see above which depicts just how the Xbox 720’s Kinect Glasses are able to deliver a far more interactive and immersive gaming experience. The document that was posted over the weekend has been taken down already due to a request from Covington & Burling LLP, incidentaly a major IP (intellectual property) law firm who represents Microsoft. Are you looking forward to a new gaming console, or are current generation models still your cup of tea?
